I am renting a room in my home where I also live. Past renters have always had their own possessions, but this person is looking for a furnished room. We were a really good match so I agreed to furnish the room for him. What "in general" is expected in a furnished room?
I am thinking:
bed (mattress and boxspring for sure, bedframe optional but I already bought one, anyway)
dresser
nightstand
lamp (either floor lamp or for nightstand? or both…?)
tv (tv may rest nicely on top of dresser, if not, also a stand?)
desk optional (since I am not providing computer and don’t know if he has one)
The window has custom blinds, but no curtains - Am I supposed to provide curtains or only if it’s my own preference for the room?
No art on walls. Should I be hanging a picture or mirror somewhere?
Am I supposed to provide the bed linens, bedspread, pillows, etc? DVD/VCR player? These are the extras I am absolutely not sure about but leaning toward NO is the standard.
If you have provided a furnished room for someone, please respond, and let me know how well your stuff was treated.

We sold our house and at signing the realtor said the buyer wanted all the curtains back. They are NOT custom sized to the windows. They are very taste specific. The red ones in the living room I bought to match my couch cushions and rug. The kitchen curtain matches my rugs and dishes. The bedroom curtains are the same fabric as my comforter set. Every window has custom fit blinds, which we of course left.
They also want the bronze rods and holdbacks for all the windows. Do we have to give them all our curtains?
