So I’ve lived in my place for 4 yrs and I had this cheap carpet in there i think its called olefin?? Not only that but the cabinets in the kitchen were this fake wood where in between both woods it was hallow(empty) so the cabinet knobs always broke off. The apt was poorly painted in which the paint starting peeling after 2 yrs. My deposit was 0 and after 4 yrs I moved. The day I did my final walk thru I didnt get a copy because it was on normal paper plus she stated to me that she knew the carpet was cheap and that the wood was also cheap and they had issues with another apt with the same carpet. She never mailed it out and after 22 days I recieve this huge packet of papers saying I owe them 89. WTF? 0 for cleaning.5 for carpet cleaning.5 for carpet repair.on the painting receipt it showed they were charged 0 and they charged me 0 for preping the walls she claims. plus a bunch of other misc things. like for real wood..can’t they only charge me for the same quality of wood I had in there?So basically they are keeping my full deposit in top of charging me an additional 9. Does that sound right? I knew I be charged for the blinds and shampooing the carpet but isnt repair under normal wear and tear? In the middle of the living room it ws coming apart to where if i vaccum it would get sucked in and pull the carpet. I had no pets and don’t smoke. I left no trash behind! I’ve never been late on rent. The holes in the wall were smaller than nail size..maybe a pencil dot! Except for maybe 10 holes in the place were nail size..I told her I m disputing it and she got very rude and unprofessional. She stated that she never told me anything about the carpet or cabinets. That it was my word against hers and that it wasnt documented on the final walk thru but I still havent received the final walk thru papers. Can anyone help me understand or give me advice?? If she does sue me do I have a case? O yea I live in California
